T-10 Class Mold Acquisition Fundraiser

The T-10 class has the opportunity to acquire the molds that were used to construct the LS-10. Taking ownership of the molds will allow the class to ensure that they are protected, and open up options to the class in the future. To minimize the financial impact on the class, we are seeking donations from class members to help fund the purchase.

Donations will be held in escrow until the purchase is negotiated. Donations may be made via check or PayPal. If an agreement for purchase is not reached, the donations made by check will not be cashed, and donations made by PayPal will be returned. Donations are not tax deductible. The fundraiser will run from March 1, 2021 until April 30, 2021. 

Benefits of the class owning the LS-10 molds include:

• Ability to construct rudders for existing T-10s and LS-10s using the LS-10 rudder mold.

• Ability to create parts to maintain existing LS-10s.

• Potential for construction of new boats using the LS-10 molds.

• Potential for construction of parts to maintain or upgrade existing T-10s. 

Since the LS-10 went out of production, there has been no attempt to sell new T-10s or LS-10s. Until now, the molds have been stored indoors, but have recently been moved outside. Weatherly Boat Works in Port Clinton, OH has agreed to store the LS-10 molds indoors for the class at no cost. In return, they will have the right to use the molds to construct rudders, hulls, decks, and other parts that could be used by existing T-10 and LS-10 owners to maintain boats. As an alternative to re-coring an older T10, they could build a new hull, allowing the transfer of keel, engine, mast and all other hardware to the new boat. They would also have the ability to build an entire new boat.
